About the Work

There are things we perceive, yet can not see- even life itself is an invisible force. No where do we experience this more intimately than in our own breath, the force that eludes vision yet powers life within our body.

“Breath Meets Body” is a collection of paintings that explore the liminal spaces where invisible, ephemeral realities combine with physical, material points of embodiment. These large oil paintings on wood panel openly look into the unknown through ethereal landscapes that showcase elements of abstraction and realism, rendered in soft, inviting color palettes that are encountered by solid figures. Deep gazes from painted bodies engage viewers’ emotions while also marking the tension that exists when different realities encounter one another.

The resulting collection of work is a place where sky meets ground, dream meets waking, and breath meets body.
